Effective Storage Tips
Here are storage tips to help you access your valuables and keep them safe:
- Leave a walkway throughout your storage space to keep it organized
- Keep frequently accessed items at the front of the unit
- Use stackable containers and stack heavier items at the bottom
- Keep an updated inventory of all the items in your storage unit
- Label containers
- Keep items away from unit walls
- Wrap framed items and mirrors in cardboard or bubble wrap to keep them safe
- Store fragile or small items in drawers
- Don't stack sharp items on any cushioned furniture
- Wrap mattresses and covered furniture in plastic
- Store dishware in strong cardboard boxes or totes
Please bring your own lock and it is recommended that you carry insurance for the contents for your unit.
What Size Unit Fits Your Needs?
5x10/6x10 – Size of a walk-in closet best for storing a studio apartment.
10x10/10x12 – One-bedroom apartment including appliances, plus boxes/totes.
10x15 – Two-bedroom apartment or small house.
10x18/10x20 – Similar to a one stall garage used for auto or household items.
10x25 – Three (3) bedroom home or automobile with additional space for boxes or small items.
10x30 – Sufficiently store contents of a large home, automobile, boat/trailer etc., with additional space for small items.
